One more book please!!! This third book only makes me want another one about the Lehmans and Becks. This is one of the best Amish series I've read and I read them all. I did not review the first two books although I would have given them five stars instead of the four which I gave this book. One thing I wish Ms Gould would have done and many Amish authors have begun doing this, is to have a character list at the first of the book. There are so many characters from different families that it's difficult to keep up with who they are.

I love all three books! I hated to have the last book end! Leslie Gould is a wonderful author and these books told of the friendship of an English family and the Amish family! Great books!
Problems happen in every culture. The solutions are not always the same, but the feelings flow as humans seek answers. Good story with strong descriptions using a large variety of descriptive words.
Let me say first of all that I really like Leslie Gould's books.I read the other two in this series and really liked them. I absolutely love her series The Courtships of Lancaster County, This book just doesn't feel like it's by the same author. I found the plot twists that were supposed to be a surprise to be telegraphed way ahead and totally predictable. I honestly didn't like the main characters, I found them flat and annoying. I guess her other books were so marvelous that this one just didn't measure up. Worth the read if you've read the other books in the series to find out what happened to the characters, but otherwise just meh.
This is the third and final book in the Neighbors of Lancaster County where we have been following two families, the Becks, a military family, and the Lehmans, an Amish family. This series has been a great one and I hate to see it end.

Rose is a very gregarious young woman, always looking for a fun time. Now she is being courted by Reuben, the bishop’s son, and very much wants to marry him. At the same time, Lila Lehman is planning her wedding to Zane Beck, who has joined the Amish faith. A couple of circumstances happen that interrupt Rose’s plans. First, Trevor, an Army buddy of Zane’s, comes to visit and Rose becomes quite smitten with him. Second, Lila is involved in an accident. As she is taking her younger sister Trudy to school one morning in their horse and carriage, a car comes barreling up over the hill and rear ends her. She is thrown from the carriage and her horse lands on top of her. Her injuries are quite serious and her recovery will be months. It falls to Rose to do much of the caring for Lila as she recovers. It also leaves Rose with much free time—so much free time, in fact, that she starts seeing Trevor. He is so much more handsome than Reuben and so much more fun—or so she thinks. All this sneaking around with Trevor creates a surprise for Rose. She becomes pregnant. Will Trevor want to marry her? What will be Reuben’s reaction?

In the meantime, Lila’s difficulties grow. As a result of the injuries she suffered in the accident, Lila is afraid she will never be able to get pregnant. Will this cause Zane to change his mind about marrying her? Also, the driver of the car causing the accident is blaming Lila for the accident and is threatening to sue. Zane wants to speak to an attorney but attorneys are not the Amish way. Will Zane’s struggles at pursuing justice concerning the accident cause him to want to leave the Amish faith?

This book has a couple of other mini-stories that are interesting reading. I recommend you read this book to find out how the sisters resolve their individual troubles and to find out how the mini-stories come out. In fact, I recommend this entire series. However, any of the books can be read as a standalone.
