I read the first book in the series and wanted to know how Eve and Logan's relationship developed, so I bought the second. The book was not focused on that relationship, and although I was slightly disappointed, I was engaged by the other characters and events. Great story line, amazing characters, and not very predictable. Johansen has a talent for knowing just what aspects of the story to elaborate to make the story great. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

This is some of the best reading I have had in a long time.
This is one book you will not want to put Dow.
The story has some real nice twists and you can feel the characters growing right before you! Enjoyed the read and really starting to love the characters .
Read this out of order. Read it first and got hooked on Eve Duncan. Now I have read them all.
As I was reading this one in the Eve Duncan series I kept thinking I had already read it. I guess the characters are so familiar to me.
I kept reading and was very pleased that I did as I couldn't put it down. I was kept in suspense until the end.
I think it would be best if I would have read the series in order. Sometimes I feel that Eve is too needy and then she will
toughen up a bit. I would recommend this book to mystery lovers.
This is the second and the last book in the series I've read. I am not saying it's a bad book but it's not for me. First of all, I am not a big fan on Eve. Secondly, the author seems to like creating a very nice and likable secondary character just to kill him/her later in a book. It was the same in the first book. When such characters was introduced in the book I knew right away he's going to die. It's very predictable.
This book is amazing as a stand alone or as the sequel to The Face of Deception which is the first book in this series. The highly climactic suspense was superb. I've never felt such a thrill in all my years as an avid reader. If you're looking for a page turner with high suspense and a little emotion this is definitely the book for you.
I really like Iris Johansen's stories but I'm not a big fan of Joe and his bully attitude, it walks a very fine line from emotional abuse not love
